QADIYA is an independent, noncommercial community project: an archive of Palestine’s history, built for the cause and open to everyone.
This is an early pilot. Its records were gathered with AI help from cited sources and are still being checked, so don’t rely on them yet, and tell us if something is wrong.
We’re looking for people and organisations to build it with us: historians, archivists, translators, designers, developers, and partners who can support the work.
On 19 July 2024 the International Court of Justice advised, at the General Assembly’s request, that Israel’s continued presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is unlawful, and that Israel must end it as rapidly as possible, cease all new settlement activity, evacuate all settlers and make reparation.
The General Assembly asked for the opinion in resolution 77/247. The Court heard the parties from 19 to 26 February 2024 and gave its opinion on 19 July 2024.
The Court found that Israel’s continued presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is unlawful and that Israel must bring it to an end as rapidly as possible, cease immediately all new settlement activity, evacuate all settlers, and make reparation for the damage caused. All states are not to recognise the situation as lawful, nor to render aid or assistance in maintaining it; nor are international organisations, the United Nations among them, to recognise it as lawful.
