Born in Jerusalem in 1964, she studied photography in Canada and London and worked as a photojournalist from 1990, for the Sygma agency and then for Reuters. In 2001 she founded the photography department at Birzeit University, where she teaches; her series include Negative Incursion and Jerusalem: The Warm Light Still There, shown in Rome, Ramallah, Frankfurt and at the Sharjah Biennial.
