QADIYA is an independent, noncommercial community project: an archive of Palestine’s history, built for the cause and open to everyone.
This is an early pilot. Its records were gathered with AI help from cited sources and are still being checked, so don’t rely on them yet, and tell us if something is wrong.
We’re looking for people and organisations to build it with us: historians, archivists, translators, designers, developers, and partners who can support the work.
Born in Shefa-Amr on 25 July 1955 to a family from the destroyed village of Saffuriyya, he studied mathematics at Tel Aviv University, where he chaired the Arab Student Committee, and co-founded the General Union of Arab University Students. A member of the politburo of the Israeli Communist Party and coordinator of the Committee for the Defence of Arab Land, he became secretary-general of Hadash in 1992 and its chairman in 1999, and was elected to the Knesset in 1999, 2003 and 2006.
