Born in Bethlehem in 1962, he studied theology in Germany, taking his doctorate at Marburg in 1988, and was pastor of the Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem from 1988 to 2003. In 1995 he founded the International Center of Bethlehem, and in 2002 the Dar al-Kalima school and academy. His books include I Am a Palestinian Christian (1995) and Bethlehem Besieged (2004).
