QADIYA is an independent, noncommercial community project: an archive of Palestine’s history, built for the cause and open to everyone.
This is an early pilot. Its records were gathered with AI help from cited sources and are still being checked, so don’t rely on them yet, and tell us if something is wrong.
We’re looking for people and organisations to build it with us: historians, archivists, translators, designers, developers, and partners who can support the work.
Born in Beit Jala in 1954, he trained as a teacher at the UNRWA institute in Amman, then edited the cultural section of al-Hurriyah in Beirut and Damascus and the PLO’s magazine Bayader in Tunis. Back in Palestine he directed the magazine Masharef, whose editor-in-chief was Emile Habibi, edited the literary periodical al-Shu‘ara’ and the cultural page of al-Ayyam in Ramallah. A poet and novelist, he won the Jordanian Writers Union’s prize for poetry in 1977.
