Born in Gaza City in 1961, he graduated from the fine arts academy in Istanbul in 1986 and works as a sculptor and painter, teaching young artists. In 2002 he led the painting of a mural on Gaza City’s main street honouring Palestinian women, commissioned by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.
