Nablus knafeh

الكنافة النابلسية

A sweet of fine pastry threads, butter and syrup over white Nabulsi cheese, coloured red and scattered with pistachio. Nablus is known for it; its makers have opened shops across the Arab world, and on 18 July 2009 the city made the largest tray of it on record.
